Team Macho is a Toronto based art group consisting of Lauchie Reid, Chris Buchan, Nicholas Aoki, Jacob Whibley, and Stephen Appleby-Barr. The group uses all media types (excluding digital) to create illustration and fine art pieces that are often humorous and witty, but always packing a massive punch of creativity and artistic expression. Their pieces are rarely planned and usually take form from watching one another at work. Long Time Listener, First Time Caller will feature new work as well as a number of classic prints from the Team Macho Vault. The title of the show in itself is awesome! These guys always manage to put a smile on my face. If you happen to be in NYC, you should definitely stop by the Giant Robot Gallery and check out their work. If you’re not going to be in NYC, you can simply visit Team Macho’s website to see some of the most quirky, yet accomplished group art around!

Ananda Nahu’s work is simply amazing! This dynamic female has earned her spot as one of the most original voices in the explosive street art scene of Brazil. Born in Juazeiro, Brazil, Ananda started creating art as a young child and hasn’t stopped since. Her pieces are vibrant, full of color, and often portray music legends and those who have been marginalized by society. In 2006, she and partner Izolag created Firme & Forte Records which accompany musicians’ visual arts needs. Take a look at her pages on Flickr and Multiply to see more of her incredible images that are packed with creativity and full of Brazilian vibes!
