I attended the BCBGMaxAzria fashion show at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week on the first day of presentations. 31 looks were presented, featuring an emphasis on draping, cutouts, zig-zag paneling, and watercolor-like prints. I didn’t think that all of the looks suited the models well but I could see them translating on a consumer level, and wouldn’t be surprised to see many of these dresses on young ladies heading to sweet 16’s, proms, and graduation parties next spring, or even some young starlets on the red carpet.
My favorite looks are displayed above. I loved the way the fabric was draped on these pieces, and I couldn’t keep my eyes off the way they looked moving down the runway. Color-wise they are pretty safe, especially compared to the rest of the collection, but I think the shape and movement of these particular dresses were also the most sophisticated.
There were many celebrities in the house for this presentation, like Amanda Bynes, and Anna Wintour, and I managed to snap a couple pics of Keri Hilson and Solange Knowles after the show ended. Check out my pics and finale walk video below, and see if you can play Where’s Anna in the background!
