Hermès and Liberty have finally partnered up to create an exquisite, limited edition range of scarves. Bali Barret, Creative Director of Hermès Silk, designed six different scarves for the collection that are the perfect marriage of the classic Liberty Tana Lawn flower print and the Hermès Ex Libris logo.
“For us Parisians, Liberty is the British icon,” explains Bali Barret. “Both Hermès and Liberty share a love for fantasy and unexpected situations. The idea for the collaboration was to create a fifty percent Hermès and fifty percent Liberty scarf in order to make a one hundred percent truly exciting hybrid collection of scarves. Choosing to print our famous Ex Libris on to the famous Liberty Tana Lawn classic flower print was the perfect solution.”
What is intriguing about the scarves (and what I love about them, above and beyond the merging of two icons) is their ability to look completely different from afar and close up. Barret’s layering of the florals and Ex Libris prints create enough dimension and definition that the bold Ex Libris print will be noticeable from across the room or street, but the beautiful florals will make their own statement up close and personal.
As if you really needed a reason to buy a Hermès and Liberty collaboration!
These essential pieces to your Fall wardrobe and beyond are available online, or, visit the Hermès store at Liberty to experience the scarves first hand.
