Last night Anna Wintour, Editor in Chief of Vogue, was on the Late Show with David Letterman promoting her documentary The September Issue. I’ve never met her or worked with her, but I always wonder whether she actually deserves the rep she has. She said that she’s not considered smiley, warm and fuzzy – and I think that’s ok. She’s the Editor in Chief of the most successful fashion magazine in the world.
I think people are hard on her for not being “warm & fuzzy” because she’s a woman. After all, no one gets on Jack Welsh (former CEO of GE) case for not being warm & fuzzy, right? Instead, he was praised for getting the job done. There’s an expectation in our society for women to be “warm & fuzzy” all the time and sometimes smiley doesn’t get the job done…I’m just sayin’. Ok, enough about my rant, you can see that Ms. Wintour actually has a sense of humor in the clip below….
