In these trying economic times, everyone’s a bargain hunter. Instead of forgoing gorgeous nails because you can’t shell out for that trip to the salon for a manicure, the new nail kits from Revlon’s Runway Collection could do the trick. From the traditional French manicure to glitter and rhinestones galore, there’s a variety of designs to choose from. The set has everything you need: it includes 24 nails in 12 different sizes, nail glue and a buffer, all for about $8.
We tried out a few of the sets and got creative adding our own polish. While the nails are relatively easy to apply, the glue should be used sparingly as it tends to come out fast (like Super Glue, and is just as adhesive!). Nails had to be pressed firmly against the nail bed to avoid bubbles. This isn’t a concern though if you plan on painting the nail up to the french tip design as we did. Once on, the nails were definitely sturdy (directions say they last up to 7-10 days). The polish was easy to apply and looked great. We kept it fresh with bright summer hues: hot pink, lime green and melon-orange. To remove these, be sure to use acetone polish remover; non-acetone took forever, and some didn’t come off at all with it. All in all, a great buy for the financially savvy shopper, and a good solution for in between salon visits.
