Video killed the radio star and digital (cameras) killed the Polaroid…or so we thought. Polaroid ended production on its iconic cameras and the Instant Flim they used years ago, but the Impossible Project and Urban Outfitters have seen fit to give the photography format a new lease on life. The Impossible Project will release a limited edition of 700 hand-numbered deadstock Polaroid camera kits at Urban Outfittesr across the US and the UK (sucks to be you, rest of the world). The package includes one pack of deadstock Polaroid instant film along with the classic Polaroid One600 camera, the last Polaroid ever produced. The Impossible Project hopes to bring back Polaroids next year, but until that happens (or rather, if it happens) this is the only way you’ll be getting your grubby little mitts on one of these highly sought after prizes. Urban Outfitters will also offer additional deadstock original Polaroid Type 779 Instant film saved from the last production runs made at the last Polaroid factory in the Netherlands. The film has been hand-selected, tested, and stored at low temperatures just for Urban Outfitters.
