The reinvention and re-release of shoes in the sneaker community is one of the many reasons sneaker companies have taken to digging deep in their perspective design portfolios to take their staple shoe designs and making them classics all over again.
New Balance has been working hard in their kitchen to reinvent and update their classic 420 running shoe. The popular athletic brand has recently reintroduced the 420 running shoe and made a few awesome improvements to the model including textiles such as metal infused nylon and a unique see thru Schoeller material.
The 420 model of New Balance was designed first in the 1970s in order to protect athletes and soon climbed its way into popularity in the 1980s. The updated version was designed by the New Balance Creative Director team made up of Savania Davies-Keiller and Roberto Crivello.
The collection includes two models. The Schoeller 420 features a Swiss mill made, non elastic fabric that has high tech fibers to give the shoe its see-thru look. The shoe is now available for both men and women in a variety of colors including white, purple/beige, and grey/yellow/teal.
The second model, named the Metal-Infused 420, is constructed with metal-infused nylon containing stainless steel yarn, and is made to naturally repel dirt. Model is both light weight and durable and is available for men and women in beige/brown and green/purple.
