M.I.S.S. Michelle’s Beauty Picks and Tips of the Week: Drama Mamas and Gossip Girls – Keep ‘em Talking with These Poppin’ Picks

I don’t know about y’all, but the warmer weather signals fun bright colors and the start of Spring parties and outings, which are bound to get the young ones into some interesting situations. And this week’s beauty post, Drama Mamas and Gossip Girls – Keep ‘em Talking with these Poppin’ Picks, includes bold spring colors that make the prefect transition into summer. Hell, like I say, if you’re gonna get caught up in the drama, you better look your best little mama. And this week’s picks and tips will help you do exactly that.

PICK #1: For Oh No She Didn’t Nails – Pippa Nail Polish by Zoya

I absolutely love Pippa, a vibrant yellow polish from Zoya’s La-Di-Da Summer 09 Collection.

TIP: Even though this shade looks ultra cute on its own, you can add even more pop by using tape or tip guides to color block the nails (half moons or stripes) with a light gray shade, see M.I.S.S. Liz’s post HERE about how to make your own perfect shade of gray nail polish, since most brands aren’t able to for some reason.

*Zoya also has an awesome nail polish exchange program that allows you to get a free polish for every used nail polish you send to them ($3 to ship). The brand has a HUGE line of relatively inexpensive, long-lasting, eco-friendly nail polishes (they do not use Toluene, Formaldehyde and DBP – chemicals linked to cancer, organ damage, and birth defects), and come in a variety of colors and finishes. Learn more about their nail polish exchange HERE, and see my past Zoya Picks HERE.

DiorKiss Gloss in Grenadine Sirup

PICK #2: For Oh My Gawd Lips – DiorKiss Gloss in Grenadine Sirup

All I know is that this shade is HOT!!! You know, the kind of hot where you are drinking Tequila Sunrises poolside in Las Vegas all day long. I mean really, you can’t go wrong with Grenadine Sirup, a finely sparkling, lip plumping fuchsia gloss by Dior. And Dior recently changed, (and for the better!), the packaging of the DiorKiss glosses from a toothpaste shaped tube to a cylindrical one, and also added a slant-tip applicator for greater precision.

Make Up For Ever Aqua Eyes in White

PICK #3: For Oh Hell No Eyes – Make Up For Ever Aqua Eyes in White

Most people never consider buying white eyeliner, but this plain shade is one of the beauty industry’s top secret weapons as it makes EYES appear BIGGER, BRIGHTER, and MORE ALERT, and therefore is a saving grace for those days you feel extra sleepy, but need to fake a good night’s rest. I like Make Up For Ever’s Aqua Eyes in White, since it is WATERPROOF, and glides on super smoothly.

TIP: Make eyes look bigger and brighter with this old school make up trick. Line the inner lower rims of eyes, also called your waterline, with white eyeliner, then run a cotton swab under the eyes to clean up any stray liner that might have run into the lashline. Apply eye shadow, mascara, and eyeliner (darker) as usual.
