Some people truly believe that fashion is art, and over at FINN cultured+cured, fashion is not only art, it’s an integral aspect of our lives. The Montreal-based lifestyle brand recently released its Spring/Summer ’09 collection, and along with that the brand is creating a movement that the good folks at FINN cultured+cured describe best themselves: “a fusion of sub-cultures that is BANG ON!… for the modern youth.”
Just a quick glance at the pieces from FINN cultured+cured’s collection proves that this brand is something unique – the type that doesn’t come along often. For S/S 2009, offerings include some traditional tanks and sundresses, with a bit of flare added in the detail. The white ruffle tank is an effortless way to punch up a pair of your favorite jeans or shorts, ideal for rocking to a friend’s summertime BBQ. Sundresses can sometimes be drab, but with bright colors (such as the colorblock tube dress) and unconventional cuts (the v-neck dress), you won’t have to worry about looking boring this spring.
Now comes the edgier pieces, but what’s perfect about the way they’re structured and designed is that anybody can pull them off. So even if you’re on the conservative side of style, take this opportunity to step outside your boundaries. The black harem-style shorts are something you’d easily spot on starlets skipping down Melrose on a hot summer day. If you’re looking to rock more color this spring, these knit shorts are also available in cobalt blue, a hot hue straight off the runways. Pair them perfectly with FINN’s “Music is Power” or a basic FINN cultured+cured logo short-sleeve sweatshirt, or opt for a bright graphic tee to channel your inner-90’s child.
A true fashion lover knows that style transcends gender boundaries, so don’t dismiss FINN cultured+cured’s menswear line for your own wardrobe this spring. The graphic tees are simple and wearable, so whether you’re buying one for the guy in your life or you just wanna add to your closet, FINN’s got you covered. Like the women’s line, the graphic tees are bright and fun. No effort’s required to piece together a daring outfit.
FINN cultured+cured was started by Vicky Kelechain, who teamed up with three other designers. With all of their design background, the team used FINN as “an outlet for creative expression through clothes.” Since the brand’s inception in 2000, it’s managed to have pieces picked up in stores from Japan to the U.S. The main stores that FINN can be found in include Urban Outfitters (US), Ignition (US), Black Market (US), Pop Killer (US), Lefty Crown Company (US), Avenue Los Angeles (US) Beams (Japan) and La Maison Simons (Canada).
