Ahh, Spring. It’s the time of the year when you can shed the layers of winter clothes and finally throw on something light and airy and enjoy the sunny outdoors. You can do just that with Built by Wendy’s Spring ’09 Collection. It has a variety of pieces that capture the easy-going feel of spring with a-line silhouettes and loose fits. Designer Wendy Mullen is always taking inspiration from sports, prep school style and classic designs as a way to reinvent the basics and this collection is no exception to that.
Comfort and breathability? Check and check. The collection of dresses, tops, bottoms, and jackets are all 100% cotton, the only exception being the super cute and simple leather bomber jacket with cropped sleeves. Another great thing about the BBW Spring collection is the versatility of each piece; with it’s touch of French style, it’s easy to create a complete look that’s either sporty casual, sweet or chic and classic.
Colors range from navy, black, indigo, neutrals, army green, and reds with some pieces like the jersey dolman minidress available in kelly green and yellow. BBW is never without prints and patterns, which you will find in the Spring collection in the form of broad to French (narrow) stripes, dainty dot and floral prints, and window plaid.
