We’ve been posting about Yours Truly Brand since the first line hit stores in October 2007. We’re always more that excited to back brands up from the beginning that are run by passionate and hardworking ladies that are in it for the right reasons.
Today’s feature is Jenny Musitano of Yours Truly Brand, a Brooklyn based clothing line for those who aren’t into wearing mainstream BS. The clothing reflects this attitude and promotes truth, confidence, and street culture. Yours Truly Brand is a small independent company striving to bring quality and uniqueness to the streets. It’s a label that should be rocked with confidence and love cause it’s that real.

Let’s get into some Q&A with Miss Jenny:
1. What woman, besides your mom or grandmother, do you find inspirational?
I like women who are successful, self-made, happy and just good people.
2. How did you get your start?
I always knew I was going to be an entrepreneur when I was young. It was either going to be … club owner, retail store, or clothing line … I threw my first Hiphop show at this spot I was managing in May 2002 in Boston, then in June I did my first party @ Karma Club on Lansdowne called ”The Alliance.” It was dope with breakbeats, hiphop, dnb, and an open mic. I threw a weekly pool party & brunch called “B. Easy” in the Summer of 2003 and did several other one offs @ other locations. After college I moved to NYC. I organized a very sketchy Afterhours on Ludlow (LES) for a few months (whole other story). It was me running the entire shit, even down to buying the beer at a discount beer spot. I had to get out of there. I was living in the attic and taking showers at Crunch gym. I went back to doing corporate promotions, then started a staffing/talent agency booking models and dancers while taking the freelance and odd jobs as well. I eventually got sick of that and started a clothing line, which always was the top thing I wanted to do. So basically, I think you gotta try a lot of stuff until you find your true passion or whatever.
I can’t answer this question cuz after looking at something for so long it like turns into something different in my opinion and I’m just ready for the next piece.
Probably one of my closest friends cuz it would be fun and I want to give them something that’s them and that they love.
It’s hard to find good people to work with and I’m always looking ; )I don’t like the pressures and stress, but that comes with owning a biz I guess.
Thanks Jenny! Great insight to your world!

Yo Jenny,
those videos definitely brought back memories of the party last summer even though I showed up late so didn’t make it in the video LOL. You have a good business mind and a exceptional fashion sense . Its awesome that someone on the same page as me moved into the building and decided to open a kick ass store. I wonder what you will do next best of luck with the yours truly brand.
yours truly ,
