Whatever happened to aerobicizing and workout videos? I grew up on the Jane Fonda Workout, saw my mom “Sweat to the Oldies” and saw teen queens join the club like Alyssa Milano with Teen Steam, but there was definitely a time when you could pop in a VHS tape and start burning those calories. If you’re ready for an updated workout, Reebok has the answer. Reebok took the concept of the workout video and made it more “now” and added a bit of “iD.” They recently launched a site, just for the ladies, dedicated to help women find the right kind of workout for them.
The process is simple and involves 3 steps: (1) choose a color; (2) choose a vibe; and (3) choose a move. Based on your selections you are assigned an instructor that best meets your selections. Then, you gain access to the instructors fitness tips and insights. With over fifteen female instructors from around the world, you’ll definitely find an instructor that has a fitness style that appeals to you. Finally, I’m sure you noticed the very fit instructor pictured above – Jennie Widegren – a dancer from Sweden. We’ve gained access to some Q & A and a video interview where she talks about her ideas on fitness and has some great advice on how to stay toned. Check it out after the jump!

Q. What is your fitness philosophy?
A. Energy creates energy!
Q. What inspires you to get up and get moving?
Q. What move or change in training style has gotten the most powerful reaction from people?
A. I have done a lot of training in the states, and when I came back to Sweden, I moved differently and used the music in a different way. This made me very popular as dance teacher in Sweden. But now, 10 years later, I spend a lot of time on my warm up, making sure it is fun, with strong music and great exercises.
Q. When you’re not in the gym training, what do you do for fun?
A. Hang out with my friends, travel and shop.
Q. How do you prevent burnout and keep others moving?
A. I vary my training.

A. Move without a warm up! I can still do everything I did back then, it just takes 30 min to get warm!!

A. Great music turns me on. Also, traveling.
Q. Do you need to sweat to see results?
A. Yes, but I also like the heat….. (I’m from Sweden you know…)

A. Yes, it is I’m afraid if we are talking about physical results, but you can achieve breathing and mind control results without the pain!

A. Three one hour sessions

A. Step Reebok revolutionized me, by giving me a great ass!
Q. Working out can seem intimidating, what tips do you have for setting realistic, achievable goals?
A. Choose the type of training you like, group training, a private class or a more spiritual class. Also, be realistic, set up 3 times a week not 6. Also, train with a friend.
Q. What’s the best workout that will deliver the quickest results?
A. Variation in your training, good food and great sleep!
Q. What kinds of exercise can be done while commuting, sitting in your car or on train, etc?
A. Breathing & balance exercises, balancing on one foot on the train is great!
Q. How many minutes per week is the ideal amount to have a healthy, fit body?
A. 90 minutes four times a week= 360 minutes (one hour training 30 min cool down and stretch)
Q. How does wearing the right footwear and apparel effect your workout?
A. Super important!!! Both for health and feel.
Q. How often should you change up/switch up your workout?
A. Every 3 to 4 weeks, just some small changes!
Q. What burns the most calories, lifting weights or doing cardio?
A. Cardio, but on the other hand, having more muscles increases the total metabolism.
Q. What’s the best way to slim your belly?
A. No sugar, no dairy, and doing stability training.
Q. Are there any foods that you should eat before a workout to boost your energy?
A. I believe in fresh food that is not processed and lots of fresh water.
