Whether through a direct experience, or through that of loved ones, friends, and family, breast cancer affects the lives of millions of people everywhere. Each year, over 40,000 women in the U.S. alone, die from breast cancer, according to The American Cancer Society. There is no known cure for breast cancer, although advances in medical treatment are achieved through breast cancer research funded by companies such as, The Breast Cancer Research Foundation, Susan G. Komen for the Cure, and The National Breast Cancer Coalition. It’s remarkable so many retail companies participate in Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and this week’s picks are a few of my favorite products supporting the cause.

1. Estee Lauder’s Pure Color Crystal Lipstick in Elizabeth Pink
Named for Elizabeth Hurley, Elizabeth Pink is a practical lipstick in a universal shade of pink with a fabulous shine that looks good on anyone. Dab a bit on cheeks, and it does double duty as a blush.

2. Aveda’s Hand Relief
Aveda products are generally pretty great as they use natural ingredients and the powers of Ayurvedic principles. This non-greasy hand cream in particular works wonders on dry, chapped hands, and is in a tube small enough to throw in any tote bag or purse.

3. Ojon’s Pink Ribbon Revitalizing Mist
Ojon’s Revitalizing Mist is perfect for anyone with fine or tangle prone hair who requires a detangler/leave in conditioner before styling. It’s lightweight and has a sweet musky fragrance that has helped earn its cult status, but what I like best about it is the revitalizing part, in which its heady scent actually neutralizes odors, and brings your hairstyle back to life. It’s pretty amazing.
