We try and keep it strictly for the ladies around here but we make some exceptions to the rule. We’ve been feeling Hood By Air since the brand came onto the scene. The SS09 collection debuted at Mansion with an open bar for the attendees. From the first beat dropped by Kingdom, I was instantly sent into a tizzy!! The old-school-drum-n-bass-ragga-jungle jams, emphasis on bass, really set the tone to expect big things. What really set things off was the drum ‘n bass remix of “Let me Love You Down”. And the show hadn’t even started yet. Hood By Air went for a “Gigolo” theme for the collection…There where elements of bondage, 90’s-B.B.D-Chess-King (the exposed zipper “z.cavaricci-esque” pants being the high-light for me!) and traditional menswear influences…with a twist of course! The color-palette stayed dark, mostly black, which is a huge trend that we saw through-out the week.
