Women Making History: The Ladies of DimePiece


DimePiece began after a three-year venture with a group of Los Angeles-based females in the street wear lifestyle and industry. The ladies of DimePiece felt it was time to utilize their degrees and pursue their careers more seriously. DimePiece consists of Ashley Dimes, Laura Marie and “a masked rabbit who chills on the side in the cuts.”

Ashley, 22, and Laura, 21, both received fashion degrees and having been working within the fashion biz for some time. They knew it was the right formula when they got voted best-dressed in high school senior year. Their official start began in Summer 2007 on independent funds, where they released a seven-piece line with the intent to make females reconsider their role in the game. The ladies really felt like it was important to portray a positive message and substantial meaning behind the gear itself. It was crucial for them that they created an identity that speaks for itself through its taste and visual communication. They want to avoid gimmicks and the biting schemes that are seen all-to-often in the market. In lamens terms, DimePiece doesn’t turn to blog resources or the hype. The ladies believe in their own vision and go with it. They want their gear to voice the traits, vibe and personality of the wearer and garments that express themselves.

DimePiece™ is a lifestyle and brand aimed at catering to all the boss bitches dipped in sauce. These are the females that have the potential to make a positive impact and consistently turn heads. Pussy appeal is a natural force that all females control. We as a brand encourage women to see the need to reconsider their role in the game. We are in control, period. A DimePiece™ is a woman who appeals to her audience with genuine swag. She is a self-governing revolutionary who embodies all that is sexy. She proclaims her opinion and attitude through her adventurous dress. She is educated by the books as well as the streets. Our products are for all who want to make a statement and aren’t afraid to leave the restrictions at the door. Lets be a go-getter, a kitten with claws, a fashion aficionado and a memorable individual who is essentially the perfect ten. *

“We are moving toward a more progressive and contemporary look for the urban female this season, and so we used a few different types of fabrics that you may not have seen in this market thus far. Our new Spring/Summer 08′ collection has been deeply influenced by our Los Angeles lifestyle, you may notice our spontaneous personality is reflected in this season. We captured the raw social standards of the Hollywood culture and the strong perspective of the everyday woman.”

    I know I am sooo late in reading this interview. But I’m glad I did. Their mission statement alone makes you want to a dime piece. A boss bitch dipped in sauce, loves it. These chicks are well informed and sorry to sound cliche, genuinely original. Loves it!
