30 Years of BJ: Betsey Johnson F/W 08

And she don’t stop! 2008 marks the 30th anniversary for Betsey Johnson’s signature collection. M.I.S.S. Alice Adams of Rock It Retro and I (Liz “BusyLady” Baca of The Goods!) found ourselves, not quit front row, but seated at Betsey Johnson’s A/W 08 fashion show at the tents in Bryant Park. Here, we take you on the play by play journey from the wait to the runway to back-stage to Nigel Barker!!!!

The wait…it’s like being in a herd of cattle, very fashionable kinda, sort of.

The scene on the inside of the tent is a lot of people mingling…like “noted fashion photographer” Nigel Barker frOM AMERICA’S NEXT TOP MODEL!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He is even more handsome in person.

And the show…

Betsey’s fall collection embodied 60’s/70’s bohemian French chic. Some of my favorite styling elements were tights with everything, especially denim shorts (just because it’s “fall” doesn’t mean the shorts need to be put away), ankle socks worn over tights, the return of the thigh-high (how totally 90’s) and the huge naughty librarian glasses (nerd chic is always a bonus!).

Please note that it posed quit the challenge to get killer photos of the show, the excitement was one thing but our location also proved difficult. The picture perfect photos to your left are from style.com (where you can see all looks from the show), the “action shots” to your right are not.
